Hi my name is Sam and I'm a 3rd Year Bachelor of Music university student offering great quality, affordable piano lessons.
My approach to teaching is friendly, positive and encouraging. My goal is to get my students confident on the piano, exploring their favourite music and enjoying themselves!
I have plenty of experience across a wide variety of styles having performed in musicals, bands, gigs, churches, weddings and through university level recitals.
I teach beginner classical piano starting from the absolute basics of learning the note names, where to position fingers, rhythm etc all the way up to playing music by ear and learning songs you've always wanted to impress friends and family with!
Besides classical tuition I also offer a contemporary approach. Contemporary piano involves chords and ear based training which allows the student to play modern songs off the radio and any other popular music they enjoy. A lot of my students love this style of playing, don't feel you need to learn one or the other... I'm more than happy to incorporate the two styles in one lesson teaching you both styles. My teaching is flexible and I will endeavour to make my lessons focussed on your goals and aspirations as a pianist.
I teach on an electric upright piano from home in Caulfield North.
Prices- $25 for 30 mins, $40 for 1hr.
